Vibe Awards

I couldn't believe the headline I saw on Yahoo news just now--"Mariah Wins At Violence-Free Vibe Awards." Wow, isn't that AMAZING? Somebody managed to gather up a bunch of hip-hop "artists" (notice the quotes) in the same room together, and they also managed to get through the ENTIRE NIGHT without one shooting or stabbing! I guess we're supposed to be impressed by that. Because last year, you see, the event was marred by all kinds of violence because somebody "dissed" somebody else, or somebody had more "bling" than somebody else. What a bunch of fucking imbeciles.

Funny, but I never hear anybody bragging about the lack of violence at, say, the Oscars. Maybe it's because people in other areas of the entertainment world at least have the ability to act like civilized human beings. But when it comes to hip-hop and all that shit, the fact that nobody got killed--at a fucking awards ceremony, no less--is unusual to the point of being newsworthy. That should tell you volumes about this particular form of "art."

Fuck hip-hop. Fuck the people who record it. Fuck the brainless assholes who buy it. And if you think this post is somehow "racist" because it tells the truth, fuck you, too.
