Earthquake (1964-2006) bladder cancer
John Tenta, a British Columbia native passed away this morning at the age of 42 in Florida. A former sumo-wrestler, the 6'7”, 462 pound Tenta debuted for the WWF in 1989, planted in the audience for a push-up contest between Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior and the late Dino Bravo.

Johhny Grunge (1966-2006) sleep apnea complications
Grunge formed the team "The Public Enemy" with "Flyboy" Rocco Rock (Ted Petty) in 1993 and was soon part of Eastern Championship Wrestling, which later became Extreme Championship Wrestling. The two were extremly popular and revolutionized a hardcore tag team style, including ample use of tables.

Lord Alfred Hayes (1928-2005) natural causes
Hayes began his career in the 50's and continued into the 60s and 70s with his most notable feud was with Dory Funk Jr. over the NWA title. But he is most remembered for his role as the lovable announcer & commentator where he appeared in countless skits on Tuesday Night Titans & The Bobby Heenan Show.
Chris Candido (1972-2005) autopsy pending
Candid passed away suddenly at his home yesterday. He has recently suffered serious injuries to his ankle at a pay per view event for NWA:TNA on Sunday. He was apparently doing well after a metal plate and screws were inserted to fix a dislocated ankle, a broken tibia, and a broken fibula. Candido's has held various belts in the wrestling world including the WWE Tag-Team, WCW Cruiserweight, ECW Tag-Team, NWA Heavyweight and NWA United States Tag-Team title.
'Pistol' Pez Whatley (1951-2005) heart failure
Peter Whatley 's
titles included Mid-American Tag Team, ICW United States Tag Team NWA Southern. His memorable feuds included one with Jimmy Valiant which led to a hair vs. hair match 1986 Great American Bash.
Big Boss Man (1962-2004) massive heart attack
The former prison guard, AKA Ray Traylor and , passed away on Thursday September 22nd at age 42. Traylor began his career as Jim Cornette's bodyguard under the name Big Bubba Rogers 1986. He then became The Big Bossman in the WWF where he took the persona of his former career.
Hercules Hernandez (?-?) heart attack
Raymond Fernandez was best known as "The Mighty" Hercules Hernandez in the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s. His major feud was with Billy Jack Haynes in 1987 over who had the better full nelson. The feud featured his career highlight, a double countout against Haynes at Wrestlemania III.
Jerry Tuite (1967-2003) heart attack
Jerry wrestled in WCW as "The Wall", in NWA: TNA as Malice and was currently on a tour of Japan under the name Gigantes. After a show on Friday (12-5), Tuite was found unconscious in his hotel room and rushed to the hospital.
Moondog Spot (?-2003) heart attack
One half of the WWF's Moondogs, Larry Booker also wrestled in Memphis and the Mid-South where he feuded with The Fabulous Ones, Rock-N- Roll Express, and Midnight Express. Booker died in the ring during Jerry Lawler's "birthday bash".
Crash Holly (1969-2003) choking
Crash, whose real name is Michael Lockwood, was found dead earlier today (11-6) at the home of fellow wrestler Steven Richards. No new information is available at this time. Holly, Hardcore Holly's cousin, was recently fired by the WWE.
Road Warrior Hawk (1958-2003 ) died in sleep, awaiting autposy
Hawk, whose real name is real name Michael Hegstrand died early this morning. Along with Road Warrior Animal, he was one half of  The Road Warriors aka The Legion of Doom, the greatest tag team of all time. They are the only team in history to have held the NWA, AWA, & WWF Tag titles.
Stu Hart (1915-2003) diabetes and pneumonia
Hart, father of Owen & Brett is best known for developing the commercial form of pro wrestling in Canada, after introducing "Stampede Wrestling" - a popular saturday afternoon television show that ran from 1951 through to the late 80's. Anthony Durante (?-2003) drug related
Anthony, best known as one of the Pitbulls from ECW, was found dead today. It is believed that Durante died of a drug overdose. A woman was found dead by his side, also believed to be from a drug overdose.Tragically, the couple had a 21 month old boy and an 8 month old girl, both of whom were in the house for days with the dead body.Needles were found by the bodies, as well as the drug Oxycontin. Oxycontin is a popular pain killing drug used by pro-wrestlers. Both the bodies also had fresh needle marks, indicating recent drug use.*

Elizabeth Hewlet (1960-2003) lethal combination of alcohol & drugs
Known as Miss Elizabeth, she quickly guided Savage to the IC title. They then set their sites on the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. In 88, Savage won the Heavyweight Title, defeating Ted DiBiase in a tournament at Wrestlemania IV. She was also the manager for Hulk Hogan, then united him with Savage as the Mega Powers. This alliance broke down in a dispute over Elizabeth. After her divorce from Savage, Elizabeth retired from the sport but returned in 1995 and eventually became a member of the New World Order.

Curt Hennig  (1959-2003) acute cocaine intoxication
Henning started his career in 1979 in Verne Gagne's AWA promotion along with other future superstars including Hogan and Scott Hall. He is also the son of wrestling legend Larry "The Axe" Henning.  He had memorable feuds with the Road Warriors (AWA) and Brett Hart (WWF).  He was a member of the Four Horsemen, The New World Order & the West Texas Rednecks. He was recently fired from the WWE for his role in an altercation with Brock Lesner, on a flight where they ended up bumping into the emergency exit.

Edward (The Sheik) Farhat
died Saturday, January 18th in Michigan at the age of 76 of heart failure. Farhat was a professional wrestling villain pioneered the "hardcore" school that dominates the field today, and generations of fans loved to hate him. Titles held: United States Heavyweight champ (12 times, Detroit version), 2-time NWA American Heavyweight champ , 3-time US Champ (Toronto), United National Heavyweight champ.
Rocco Rock (1953-2002) heart attack
Ted Pett, beter known as 'Flyboy' Rocco Rock, one half of Public Enemy, died on Saturday night, September 21st, due to an apparent massive heart attack. Rock recently celebrated his 49th birthday on September 1st. Rock had wrestled last night against Crowbar at an independent show in Jersey City and was to wrestle again that night.
 
Davey Boy Smith (1963-2002) heart attack
Smith's titles included: 2 time WWF Eurpoean, WWF Intercontinental, WWF Hardcore, 2 time WWF Tag Team, Stampede British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight, 4 time Stampede International Tag Team, Stampede Wrestling World Mid-Heavyweight and 2 time Stampede North American Heavyweight.
Big Dick Dudley (1968-2002) drug overdose
AKA Alex Rizzo. Rizzo's title's included the XPW Heavyweight Champ '99 (defeated "The Real Deal" Damien Steele), 2 time USA Pro Champ(defeating Sgt. Slaughter in '00) and NWA Jersey Heavyweight Champion defeating (Balls Mahony and Tommy Cairo in a triple threat match in '01).

Thesz was a true living legend. He held the record for being the youngest world champion at 21 years of age. 5 time world champion (title that pre-dated the NWA title), one title reign lasted 8 years and was champ in four different decades, his career lasted 7 decades..

Wahoo held the Florida Heavyweight title in 1967, the Texas Heavyweight title in 1970 , 2 NWA American Heavyweight championships, 5 Mid Atlantic Heavyweight titles between 1975-78, 3 NWA American Tag Team titles (one w/Thunderbolt Patterson, and two with former rival Johnny Valentine), 2 Southwest Heavyweight championships, a Southwestern Championship Wrestling Tag title (with Terry Funk), 2 NWA Southern Heavyweight championships, 2 Georgia Heavyweight titles and a Georgia Tag title (w/Tommy Rich) in 1979. the Florida TV Title in 1981, 5 NWA United States Heavyweight championships between 1981-84, and the NWA National Heavyweight title in 1986.
'Maniac' Mike Davis (1956-2001) heart attack
Mike was on half of the journeyman combination called "The Rock and Roll RPM's". Davis wrestled within the Crockett promotion and Florida before teaming up with Tommy Lane to form The RPM's". who recieved minor pushes in Memphis and in World Class. Davis later worked for the old Global Wrestling Federation based in Texas.
'Gentleman' Chris Adams (1955-2001) murderedAdams, 46, was shot and killed by his ex-roomate in Waxahachie, Texas during an alleged dispute. Adams' titles included: 4 time N.W.A. American Heavyweight Champ (which later became the W.C.W.A. World Heavyweight title), 4-time World Class Television Champ, 2-Time N.W.A. American Tag Team Champ w/ Gino Hernandez, 2-Time G.W.F. North American Heavyweight Champ, 2-Time World 6-Man Champ.
Bam Bam Terry Gordy (1961-01) pending autopsy
Gordy is best remembered as a member of the Fabulous Freedbirds along with Michael 'P.S.' Hayes and Buddy Roberts. In addition to wreaking havoc with the F'birds, Gordy became the first World Champion in Bill Watts' UWF promotion. Bam Bam was also the first foreign wrestler to win the All Japan's Triple Crown, defeating Jumbo Tsuruta on June 5, 1990 in Chiba, Japan. Gordy was bouncing around in the independents at the time of his death.

Yokozuna (1965-00) heart attack
Yokozuna was a big star in the World Wrestling Federation between 1992 and 1996, twice winning the WWF World Heavyweight Championship, and main eventing two successive WrestleMania pay per views. His weight problem saw him fail a New York State Athletic Commission evaluation, which effectively ended his WWF career. He was sent to a weight management centre, but matters did not work out for him. The WWF had wanted Hulk Hogan, when he left the company in 1993, to drop the WWF Title to Bret "Hitman" Hart, but Hogan hand-picked Yokozuna.

Despite achieving a great deal of success in the ring, Owen had always been kept from attaining the top level of superstar status partly due to the large shadow cast by his older brother Bret.
Rick Rude (1958-99) heart attack
Rick Rude made his presence felt immediately upon entering the WWF in 1987. His airbrushed ring attire, long hair and incredibly toned body made him one of the most recognizable superstars of the era. As much as the fans despised his self-centered attitude, nearly everybody realized that Rude had all the trappings needed to succeed. Rude was a trailblazer in the industry due to his tendency to address the audience over the house microphone before his matches. His constant berating of the "fat, out of shape" fans always managed to get a huge reaction, and was a definite precursor to the entrance speeches of Val Venis, The Road Dog and countless other superstars..
The Renegade (1966-99) suicide
Rick Wilson was born on October 16th, 1965. He began training under Killer Kowalski in 1994, and made his debut on March 19th, 1995. His last television appearance for the company was in the fall of this year as a Warrior lookalike for the Hulk Hogan-Warrior fued.
Gorilla Monsoon (1918-97) natural causes Gorilla Monsoon made his biggest impact in wrestling with the World Wrestling Federation. At nearly 400 pounds, Monsoon wrestled as a monster heel for much of his career, billed as being from Manchuria, China. During this time, Monsoon provided an unforgettable visual from the pre-Hulkamania days - airplane-spinning boxing great Muhammad Ali on WWF TV. However, greater fame for Monsoon awaited. He became the WWF's lead play-by-play man in the 80's, paired alongside Jesse "The Body" Ventura and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Monsoon's duties included hosting WWF Prime Time Wrestling on USA, plus providing commentary for WWF television, Pay-Per-Views, and whatever house shows were televised, such as those from Madison Square Garden. The Monsoon/Ventura pairing is generally considered to be the best pairing in wrestling history.
Giant Baba (1938-99) bowel cancer
Baba was not only a wrestling star but also a mainstream figure in Japan. Besides the weekly wrestling program on Nippon Television Network, he was also on many quiz shows, variety programs, and commercials. In later years, Baba was not someone who would be rated by American "smart" fans as one of the best wrestlers, but people who appreciate his achievement as both promoter and wrestler just enjoyed to see this legend stepping on the ring against his students. Only by standing on the ring, he could make the fans happy.
Louie Spicolli (1971-98) carisopridol overdose
Louie Spicolli, whose real name was Louis Muchiolli, died at his Los Angeles apartment on February 15, 1998. It is still not known how he died, but a friend reported he had been taking muscle relaxers in conjunction with alcohol the night before, which could have caused the tragic death.
Bobo Brazil (?-1998) heart problems
Brazil, whose real name was Houston Harris, was a star in the 1960s and '70s. Brazil was inducted into the World Wrestling Federation Hall of Fame in 1994. "He was sort of an idol because there were no black wrestlers around back then," the Rev. Donald Adkins told The Herald-Palladium this week. "Everybody loved him, especially the kids."
