Today we feature one of Howard's most controversial and entertaining guest. Mark Harris has thrilled and entertained Stern fans for many years with stories of his life, quick wit, and song. This shrine-worthy guest has been invited to the big dance over 70 times and counting and for one reason only. While Mark was thrust into the national spotlight for doing one thing, marrying Hollywood legend, Martha Raye, there is another reason he remains in the nation's psyche and why Howard keeps inviting him back... talent. In my hunt for Stern show autographs over the last two years one fair resource has been Stern fan message boards. Occasionally an opportunity will arise and one did one day on the Underground Howard Stern Message Board. There I was able to obtain an old autographed 8x10 of Mark.. from a young lady oddly enough named Starr. Thanks again Starr.

Purchasing autographs from a fellow fan, collector, dealer, or off of e-bay is necessary at times to help build your collection. As far as excitement levels go, it just doesn't compare to receiving one personalized (direct from the artist through the mail) or the ultimate experience of an in-person signing. Although I already had his autograph, when Mark recently launched his website, www.akamarkharris.com, I just had to visit and look for possible autograph opportunities. His website is perhaps the finest I've seen thus far, as far as Stern show guests go. Photos of Mark and Martha, his magnificently lavish home, scenes from his S.O.T.B. appearance with very candid shots of Ru Paul (put your wig back on girlfriend)...even recipes of Mark's favorite dishes (6 to 7 squirts..., serenade for three days....)

One section, Star of the Month, offers autograph collectors (particularly collectors of vintage Hollywood movie legends) "prints" from Mark and Martha's personal collection, which includes Mark's signature on the backs. This month's feature: Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Order yours today for only $54. I was however, disappointed to find that Mark's own 8x10s not ready for sale. I did find one thing of major interest...an address...would a star perhaps preparing to sell his autograph send me one for FREE? Out went my request letter, SASE, and index card immediately and I waited. Mark didn't disappoint. A few weeks later in my mailbox a signed 8x10 and signed index card, personalized as requested. NICE!!!

Unfortunately, not everyone embraces Mark and his lifestyle and treats all human beings with the respect and dignity they deserve. Mark recently had some trouble with a few of these judgmental types, trying to scam him and take advantage of his trusting good nature. Fortunately, I was in position to help. Not to bore you with the details, let me just say that a very special thanks goes out to Sire, Wet Sloppy Pussy, Mr. Anus, and the rest of the research department of the TRUE FANS OF STERN for helping Mr. Harris overcome some of the hatred of these non-fans. In appreciation of their fine work, Mark granted me this very rare EXCLUSIVE interview.

Mark Harris : I do about 10 shows a year and this year will either broaden my appeal in order to play other cities besides NYC and LA or I will just have to get my own talk show to help promote my message and talent.

Doc: Before getting you most recent photo I managed to find an old autographed 8x10 of yours from a young lady named Starr. Do you remember signing this photo? What were the circumstances?

Mark Harris : I cannot be certain who and who does not smell as I have given out my German shower gel to all at Howard Stern!

Doc: What Stern show crew do you find the most attractive? What about Howard, handsome or dog?

Mark Harris : Howard remains the most attractive as he is still the boss!

Mark Harris : The only thing all people must know about the gay lifestyle, is it's not to be put down so as to create more hate in the USA, we have enough already.

Doc: Do you collect anything?

Mark Harris : I collect very old clocks from around the world and now have a collection worth $8,000.00 US and growing.

Mark Harris : MY fourth CD for the BOXED SET is "THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE AWFUL" which is the funniest E-mails I've received from fans, both good and bad and awful....... If you thought Mark Harris was funny with quick responses on the air, then wait until you hear this CD!!!!!!!

And on Thanksgiving, it's a sit down dinner and show at the Huntington Towne House in Huntington, NY with a BIG show!
