MTV Road Ruler & The Gauntlet Cast Member
 
Dean S. Planet: What do you think convinced the people who put the cast together for Road Rules to put you on the show?
Katie Doyle: We always wonder that ourselves, we don't really know. I assume its because I am outspoken, don't back down and they knew I am afraid of heights. So when your casting a show about drama, they need to make sure they choose people who will be involved in it. I don't act for the camera's, and they need people who are honest. We have all noticed they tend to cast partiers and people who get anxious. Who the hell knows. I am sure luck has a lot to do with it.
Dean S. Planet: Had you been a big fan of The Real World or Road Rules before you were on the show?
Katie Doyle: Real World. I could not really get into Road Rules. Till I was on it of course. haha But the first season I ever saw was Seattle.
Dean S. Planet: How long did it take to film The Gauntlet 2?
Katie Doyle: A month and 2 days. We left June 1st, and came home July 3rd or something like that.
Dean S. Planet: What was Jo's problem? Did she have a mental breakdown on camera in episode 2?
Katie Doyle: None of us really know. I didn't talk to her much. We were all partying for Marks birthday and I didn't know she was pissed off till she was screaming at Ruthie. People always ask what happened and we say "we saw it like you did, we were just as clueless."
Dean S. Planet: Did you catch the new season of The Real World?
Katie Doyle: Not yet, because I left the day it aired to host Spring Break. I am still in Mexico now. But I for sure will. I met the whole cast out here and love, love Tyler and Johnny Bananas. They are too much fun. The whole cast is super cool, and I am glad I got to meet them before I formed an opinion of them from watching the show.
Dean S. Planet: Do you think they purposely cast people with serious issues to exploit them?
Katie Doyle: I am sure. But if we were tame and bland, they would not really have much of a show. Its suppost to be entertaining, so they cast the personalities that will either clash or get along. We all seem normal to people that meet us, but when we are all together in a house with strong personalities and nothing to really do...drama is bound to happen.
Dean S. Planet: What was your Playboy experience like? Did you meet my personal hero Hef?
Katie Doyle: I have met him before at the Playboy Mansion. I have no regrets about doing it. But shooting was scary for me. I was really nervous and have very little sex appeal. I am more of the loud, crazy chick and not the sex pot. Thats Trishelles thing. haha
Dean S. Planet: Did you have to submit test shots? Could you explain the process?
Katie Doyle: They contacted me about doing a reality tv spread. So Trishelle and I went to their office, and they took test shots there. Then they called 2 days later and asked us to pose.
Dean S. Planet: What would you say is your best physical feature? I like your dimples...
 
Katie Doyle: I dont know..... I guess dimples too.
Dean S. Planet: How is Trichelle? She looked great at the Lingerie Bowl. she is awesome!
Katie Doyle: She did look beautiful. She and I have been in Mexico for a month and she is the funnest chick I know. We get along so well, cause we are almost opposites yet we think the same way many times.
Dean S. Planet: Are you dating anyone?
Katie Doyle: Nope, I don't have time.
Dean S. Planet: Did you ever date a cast member? Do you think this is a good idea?
Katie Doyle: Yea, I have and its very difficult. For the obvious reasons of the strong personalities. And its hard to go out with them when many chicks in the bar want him. It can be annoying when people are so obvious about wanting the person your with and don't care if you are together. I find it to be disrespectful. So it can cause a lot of arguing, and thats not fun. And other cast members that date, say the same thing. But you can't help the people you fall for. And sometimes it can be easy because they understand what you went through and they travel as much as you. So it all depends on the couple. But for the most part, not always a sucessful realationship will come out of it.
Dean S. Planet: You recently posed for a calendar featuring the sexiest stars of reality TV. Where can I get a copy of this? Was this a bikini shoot? Who else is featured in it?
Katie Doyle: Trishelle, Tonya, me, Beth and girls from other shows. And our boys were David, Landon and Mark. You can buy it at realitytvstuff.com.
Dean S. Planet: I read that you are from Texas. Are you a Bush supporter?
Katie Doyle: Not at all.
Dean S. Planet: Are you watching the Surreal Life? What are your thoughts on the ill faded attempt by Ace to get on the show?
Katie Doyle: I have not seen it! I want to though, Ace is awesome. Like I said, I travel alot so my tv is limited.
Dean S. Planet: Is Veronica still your arch nemesis?
Katie Doyle: No, we have not seen each other since Battle of the Sexes 2. And that was like 2 years ago. I don't hate her or anything anymore. We can be cordial.
Dean S. Planet: What are your career aspirations? Are you looking to do something in the entertainment world?
Katie Doyle: I want to host a show. I want to steal Blairs. hahaha Kidding. I would not mind doing radio as well. I enjoy writing so I think it would be fun to write for a gossip column. But I dont have any real desire to be an actress or anything. But the entertainment industry intrigues me, and its always changing, so its never boring.
Dean S. Planet: Do you have any future projects in the works we can look for?
Katie Doyle: The new challenge FreshMeat that will be airing soon, and traveling around the country doing appearances with other cast members. I have a manager now, so I have some things coming up, but I don't talk about anything till its already happened. I don't like to look like a liar. But really, things are super great, I have a ton of fun.
