Super J

Pro Wrestler

Dean S. Planet: What advice would you give someone who wanted to get into the business?
Super J: You have to love this business. Physically it is very hard. The travel is difficult however you get to meet interesting people and go to great places. Keep your day job because it can be hard to make a living. If it is what you really want, hang on to your dream, it's worth it.
Dean S. Planet: What are your favorite moves?
Super J: I like the suplexes, high impact moves because they are impressive to watch. I'm starting to like some submission holds as well.
Dean S. Planet: What is the best and worst part of being a pro wrestler?
Super J: The best part is the live interaction with the crowd and the chance to move the people. The money is good. The worst part is being away from home.
Dean S. Planet: When and where did you meet legendary Dory Funk Jr.?
Super J: I met Dory Funk Jr. at a show in Florida. He was very supportive to my partner and me and was helpful getting us booked. Very nice family guy. He has incredible wrestling knowledge and is a good ping pong player.
Dean S. Planet: What do you think was the turning point in the downfall of WCW?
Super J: The break up of the nWo due to battling egos.

Dean S. Planet: Would you wrestle with the WWF if you got the call? What if they wanted you to become the fake Sting again, would you do it?

Super J: I am very happy in Japan and it would have to be a very lucrative offer. No, I would not do the fake Sting again but never say never.

Dean S. Planet: Whose idea was the fake Sting persona?

Super J: Eric Bishcoff

Dean S. Planet: Which of your characters is your favorite?

Super J: Super J is my favorite but Thunder & Lighting was special, too.

Dean S. Planet: Since WWF bought WCW, does it share the same alliance with New Japan Wrestling?

Super J: No.

Dean S. Planet: What are some of the differences between the Japanese fans and the sport in general over there?
Super J: The Japanese fans are the best fans in the world because they are very respectful for all the hard work that we do. The sport is taken more seriously and it is a well respected profession.
Dean S. Planet: Who do you think is the most underrated and overrated wrestlers in the business?
Super J: I think Eddie Guererro, Hugh Morris, and Brad Armstrong are underrated. There are many more.
Dean S. Planet: What would you like to say to your fans?
Super J: I want to thank them for their loyalty. I really enjoy what I do and it is possible because of their support.
