Exclusive Interview With Actress & Musician
Louise Robey

"Lewis Vendredi made a deal with the Devil to sell cursed antiques, but he broke the pact and it cost him his soul. Now, his niece Micki and her cousin Ryan have inherited the store--and with it, the curse. Now they must get everything back... and the real terror begins!"

So went the intro to "Friday the 13th: The Series", which first debuted on television screens in 1987. The initial reaction from the public was one of confusion--as in "they made a T.V. show based on the Jason movies??? But as it turned out, the series had nothing to do with its namesake. Instead, it had a much better premise... two cousins inherit an antique store from a distant uncle they've never met, little realizing that all the antiques were cursed by the devil to basically do the same thing... grant the owner's ultimate wish. Only one catch, though--you have to kill somebody first.

Not everybody has seen this show, but you'll definitely remember it if you have. More specifically, if you were a teenage guy in the late 80's like I was, you'll remember the gorgeous female star of the show--a red-haired beauty who went by the name of Robey.

I don't mind telling you--I was hot for Robey in a big way. I think she directly contributed to increasing my testosterone levels during adolescence. And I wasn't alone, either. I know plenty of guys who sat glued to their TV sets every week for a quick Robey fix. My dad was one of those guys. And as it turns out, so was webmaster Dean.

But here's the best part--it was actually a cool show! The writing was good, the acting was good and the characters were likable. I mean, thisshow had it all... neat FX, plenty of gore, good stories and Robey in a white tank top.
WHAT MORE COULD A MAN ASK FOR??

Although the series is how Robey is best remembered today, her career has taken many turns. It began when she was discovered by a well-known photographer while sunbathing topless in France--thus began a modelling career which went on to include a photo spread in the Paris Vogue. In 1984, she even released a self-titled dance/pop record which spawned a hit single, her cover of "One Night In Bangkok". The song is a modest success here in the states, cracking the Billboard dance charts. But it's a huge hit overseas, launching Robey into sudden pop stardom.

Her stint in music leads to small acting roles in films such as "Raw Deal" and the Tom Hanks comedy "The Money Pit" before landing her T.V. gig. In 1992, she takes another stab at the movies with the lead role in a steamy "Basic Instinct" retread called "Play Nice". But the film is a disappointment, and soon after its release she drops out of the public eye.

So what's Robey been up to? Well, I'm happy to say she was nice enough to grant DeansPlanet.Com an interview. And even though I couldn't ask the kind of questions that I
might have asked her when I was sixteen (i.e. "are you into bondage and dessert toppings?"), I was able to get my mind out of the gutter long enough to engage her in a career-spanning Q and A session, all the way from merry ol' England.
