On his latest album, 61 year old Neil Young goes after Hollyweird's favorite target, George Bush, President of the US and the Iraq war.
Little late aye? I mean Bush will be out of office in less than 2 years and the military is currently planning our exit strategy. I know he is Canadian and thus a little slow (jk), but this is ridiculous.
"The disc was made in a hurry, recorded in three days on Neil Young's California ranch and another 12-hour session in a Los Angeles studio. I can hear the urgency in Young's singing, as if there's not a moment to lose when a great lie has spread over the land and only strong, sustained truth-telling can turn it back."
No shit? A hurry? HAHA. What is his next project, a double live album calling for the resignation of Oliver North and the impeachment of Ronald Reagan for his involvement in the Iran-Contra scandal? How about a benefit single urging for the right to let Terri Schindler Schiavo die?

I remember the good ole' Neil Young. Harvest & Harvet Moon are two of my all time favorite albums and The Needle & The Damage done might be one of the greatest singles ever. He made Crosby, Stills & Nash 10x better when he joined the band. But unfortunately he legend lost his relevance a very long time ago, his only post-60's surge came from Pearl Jam who invited him to perform 'Rockin' In The Free World at the 93 MTV VMAs. Would he even have a record deal today if Eddie Vedder didn't give him the title of The Godfather of Grundge?
Needless to say, his attempts at gaining publicity through slamming the Prez haven't done much to stir up excitement about the new CD. In fact, Young has made it available, in its entirely on his website, you can read all of the amazing lyrics there too. SURPRISE!! You have to wait until April 28th though, I know the suspense is KILLING YOU!!!
"Let's impeach the president for lying / and leading our country into war, abusing all the power that we gave him / and shipping all our money out the door . . . Let's impeach the president for spying / on citizens inside their own homes / breaking every law in the country / tapping our computers and telephones."
Do you hear Bon Jovi singing about the pros and cons of Canada's Socialized Medicine? How about Clay Aiken addressing our Northern neighbors poverty situation, homelessness, shortage of low-rental housing and unemployment among disabled people?
