| I was watching The Surreal Life on VH1 when I couldnt believe my eyes and ears. That loser rapper named Da Brat, actually called former Go Go bass guitarist Jane Wiedlin a has been. What Da Brat, and her smelly cunt has to realize is that the music Jane made in the 80's will forever overshadow anything she has or will ever do. People love songs like Vacation, Our Lips Are Sealed (which Jane co-wrote), We Got the Beat, Head Over Heals and many more. In fact they had enough songs to throw a greatest hits CD togther. Does Da Brat have any hits? I do remember some wacked shit called Funktified that ripped off the early 90's rap sound and was on MTV for a couple months. But it turned out that the only thing funky was her skanky ass underwear.
Da Cunt (aka Shawntae Harris) also says that she was the first female rap artist to go platinum, as if there has been a lot of competitiion in that catagory. Take a look at the rappers who have appeared on the Surreal Life before her... Vanilla Ice... MC Hammer... See a pattern here? Did anyone remember who she was before the announcement of her appearing on the show? The Go Go's music is played daily thousands of times across the world. What are the chances you would catch Da Brat on the radion if you turned it on right now? And in the whole scheme of things, does she even fit into the top 10 all time of female rappers? Lil' Kim, Lauren Hill, Monie Love, Foxy Brown, Missy Elliot, Salt & Peppa, MC Lyte, Eve, Queen Latifah and Da Brat makes 10...
This attitude that she brought to the show is consistent with rappers in general due to their HUGE inflated egos. The truth is, most rap is dated and once it's over 10 years old, people NEVER listen to it again. Will we ever see a classic rap radio station? I don't think so.
So, I think that Shawntae needs to show some respect to a woman who can play and instrument, sing, write and read music. And quite frankly, it will be good when this show ends so you can once again crawl back into your dark whole of hip hop obscurity. |
