Well,
it seems as if my football hero and role model Jeremy Shockey
has once again found
himself in the midst of a controversy. Shockey was
reacting to some derogatory comments made by Bill Parcels,
the current coach of the Dallas Cowboys and former Giants
head coach. Shockey stated,
""Let's see how much Parcells wins this year,
I'll make him pay when we play them. The homo."
In the real world, comments are made like this every day.
Real men who play sports for example, find it humorous to
call someone else a homo. And frankly, there is absolutely
nothing wrong with it. Let me explain this concept to all
the morons out there. It is very insulting to call another
man gay, homo or queer because it's the lowest thing to
say to them. Now, how can this be offensive to anyone else
other than who the insult was directed to? If he called
Bill Parcels "fatso", should all overweight people
be offended and demand an apology?
Then
earlier today I read that Shockey made an apology.
"I am going to be as plain as possible," Shockey
said. "You'll probably never hear me say an outrageous
thing ever again. I'll probably never talk to you again."
Who was the apology meant for? Parcels?
Gays? The American People? The French?
The Taliban? Nobody really knows. Bash the President
of the United States all you want, but heaven forbid you
call someone a freakin homo in this country.
At
least he never raped a young girl, bit anyone's ear off
or made bets on NFL games. |
