Female Chauvinist Pigs, Part One

It no longer makes sense to blame men. There are plenty of women behind the scenes, not just in front of the cameras, making decisions, making money, and hollering 'We want boobs.' Playboy is a case in point. Playboy's image has everything to do with its pajama-clad, septuagenarian, babe-magnet founder, Hugh Hefner, and the surreal world of celebrities, multiple 'girlfriends,' and nonstop bikini parties he's set up around himself.

But in actuality, Playboy is a company largely run by women. Hefner's daughter Christie is the chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises. The CFO is a middle-aged mother named Linda Havard. The Playboy Foundation (which has supported the ERA and abortion rights, among other progressive causes) is run by Cleo Wilson, an African-American former civil rights activist. A woman named Marilyn Grabowski produces more than half the magazine's photo features.

Women Should Cross Party Lines To Combat Porn

This week, Playboy is in Athens, recruiting female students to get naked for a feature on girls of the top 10 party schools. And Ohio University's right wing has little to say about it. When you consider the social agenda of most conservatives, it doesn't make sense. The sexual free-for-all evoked in Playboy magazine, topless bars and pornography runs directly contrary to the traditional values conservatives uphold. And yet conservative women won't touch the issue with a ten-foot stripper's pole.

Girls Smile Coyly With Playboy In Town

My son and I took a trip to southern Indiana last week. We hiked around Brown County State Park. It was a typical autumn day, “under the blue-gray October sky” that sportswriter Grantland Rice immortalized in his news dispatch of the Notre Dame-Army game in 1924.

We went on to Bloomington to visit Indiana University. My son is in high school and enjoys touring colleges. There’s no better place to be than a campus in fall. The well-worn paths leading to buildings of higher learning were filled with students carrying backpacks and talking on cell phones about the rigors of academia and tests taken.

Hef: Girls Next Door Is for Real

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner says his new reality show, The Girls Next Door, on E! Network, is different from other reality shows because "this show is not fake."

Appearing on a panel at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour in Los Angeles on July 17 with three of his current "girlfriends," Hefner, who is nearing 80, said, "This is not a pre-scripted show. It really is a look inside the Playboy mansion. I've turned down a lot of offers over the last several years, in terms of the premise of a reality show, but in this case, I decided to do it with sombody that I trust very much, Kevin Burns, our producer, a close friend and an Emmy Award winner."

Hugh Hefner Blasts Tell-All Author

PLAYBOY boss HUGH HEFNER has attacked the daughter of his former doctor for claiming she grew up at the magazine editor's famous Holmby Hills, California mansion in a new book.
Hefner insists JENNIFER SAGINOR's new book A CHILDHOOD LOST: INSIDE THE PLAYBOY MANSION is full of lies and readers shouldn't believe she grew up among naked Playmates and drunk celebrities.
Hefner states, "She didn't grow up at the Playboy Mansion. She visited the Playboy Mansion on a number of occasions with her father."
And he's particularly upset by claims in the book that Saginor's first visit to the mansion - when she was six - included an early taste of celebrity excess and pornography.
He fumes, "The references to her very first visit are clearly untrue. They refer to JOHN BELUSHI at a time when Belushi was not here, long before I met him.
"Belushi and I first met after I hosted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE in October of 1977 - two years after what she's referring to.
"She refers to turning on a television set on that afternoon on her first visit and seeing people having sex on the Playboy Channel. Well, PLAYBOY TV didn't exist until 1982."

Husband: Porn Star Chloe Jones Was Raped

The husband of the late porn star Chloe Jones tells "A Current Affair" that she suffered from epileptic seizures caused by a vicious rape in Los Angeles.

In an interview to be aired Wednesday night on Fox, Mike Taylor says that Jones was hit on the head with a baseball bat as she left a photo shoot.

"It was after that blow to the head that she started suffering from epileptic seizures," he said.
Jones died earlier this month, and the cause has not yet been determined.

Jones and Taylor met when she appeared in a strip club he managed. The couple had three children.
Taylor also said that his wife and actor Charlie Sheen became friends after Sheen paid a photographer for her telephone number.

During her career, Jones appeared in hundreds of adult videos and in the pages of Playboy and Penthouse.
