Is Dave Chappelle the new Axl Rose?  It's possible.  Production on his hit Comedy Central show has been shut down twice.  Rumors are swirling with various explanations for Chappelle's recent troubles.

He's caving under the pressure of sudden skyrocketing fame.  He's in rehab.  He's such a perfectionist that he's trying o hard to surpass last season's shows.  Any, all or none of these can be true.  All that is known for certain is that we won't be seeing any new episodes of Chappelle Show any time soon.

I will say this.  Chappelle Show is a brilliant throwback to when comedy was politically incorrect & damn proud of it.  While it's better to churn out a quality product than to toss out any old crap for the masses, some feats cannot be surpassed.  Let creativity flow naturally.  Nurture it & let it
grow.  Then put it on display for anyone who wants to see it.  As long as Dave's getting laughs it's worth it.  If the show fails, he can always shout, "It was Mooney!"

P.S. It was in the paper this morning that Dave Chappelle flew from Newark, New Jersey to South Africa to check himself into a mental institution. If this is true, I take all of the proceeding back & simply lament how a great comedian seemingly lost his mind.
