Say 1 Thing, Do Another

I've been pondering something for a while now.  It pertains to a broadcast company.  While I have loved some things from that company, I have hated other aspects of it.  That company is Fox.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch owns the Fox networks.  Murdoch is a staunch conservative who is perhaps best know for his republican propaganda network, the Fox News Channel, where they never let the facts get in the way of their arguments.  But, For once, I'm not here to criticize that steaming pile of crap that is Fox News.  I'm here to point out the irony or hypocrisy of Fox
networks programming.

I find it very unusual that a network run by conservatives fill Fox & FX with programs that contain subject matter that is the polar opposite of what they allegedly preach.  It's been that way since the impetus of the Fox network.  Shows like Married With Children & Women In Prison pushed the boundaries of subject matter on television.  It continued on through the years with shows like Cops, In Living Color, & The Simpsons which showed violence & liberal thinking while Fox as a company did its best to condemn such topics as taboo.  While conservatives complain about teen sex, actors in their 30's played teenagers who fucked a lot on 90210.

It's traveled through to today.  Fox is the Mecca of conservatives & it's not uncommon to see FCC advertisements for the V-chip, which allows people to block certain programs from their television (I have a similar device that allows me to do this.  I call it my remote control).  This ad will quickly be followed by shows like 24, Nip/Tuck, & Rescue Me which are full of sex, profanity  & violence.

I'm not in anyway against violence on TV.  In fact we need MORE of it, even on Sesame Street.  I just wonder how Fox can preach its supposed values with a straight face when they clearly don't practice it.  I guess Rupert can damn Janet Jackson's titty & then go into a dark room to furiously
masturbate to Paris Hilton.  Then he shakes hands with the Bush administration.  EWWWWWWWW!
