U2 did it. Paul McCartney didn't seem to have trouble doing it. Then why in the hell can't an accomplished vocalist sing the National Anthem instead of lip synching it? Is it too much to ask to have someone get out there and actually sing it? The Super Bowl is shown in over a hundred countries and I am a little bit embarrassed that the United State's top selling female artist of all time cannot do what she supposedly does best... I just can't understand it. She made it this far because of her voice, it's what she does for a living!!!. SING IDIOT! Anybody can get up there and move their frickin' lips!!!

Although it is still inexcusable, I can see how otheracts like Britney need to lip synch due to being out of breath from dancing. But Mariah just stood there, waved her hand and PRETENDED to sing. Has she gained that much weight that standing causes her be too winded to sing? That night she was Milli Vanilli without the dreads. She is a fraud and in fact scammed us that night just like the way that we were scammed in 1986 when Rob and Fab pretended to sing on their debut muti platinum album.

I honestly watched her performances hoping that it will gain back some respect lost in the breakdown, but the simple fact that she needed to lip synch has hurt her reputation and further damaged her credibility as a singer..

But this is not really Mariah's fault. The NFL is to blame for thinking that the American people are that stupid to believe that she was singing. In the never ending pre-show we had 4 people who actually sang. What a slap in the face to Barry Manilow, Patti LaBelle, James Ingram, and Wynonna Judd that they played second fiddle to a lip syncher. The NFL should be ashemed of themselves...
