The 2007 Golden Globes
Hey, I love award shows but the GG's is one of my least favorite. I couldn't sit through the whole show but I would guess that I saw about 75% of it. I'm now wishing I could get at least 45% of that back to watch something else. Here are some of the notable events I did happen to witness:

  • Warren Beatty received some worthless lifetime achievement award. He seems to be well respected in the motion picture community but does he really have any fans? What is your favorite Warren Beatty movie? I thought 'Ishtar' ruined his career. Has he made any movies since Dick Tracy or his cameo in Madonna's 'Truth or Dare' documentary? To anyone under 35, he is pretty much a nobody.
  • Ugly Betty really isn't that ugly. The actress who plays her has nice milky white cleavage and a very pleasant face. I'd definately hit it.
  • Jamie Foxx came out to present and I noticed he made comments to people he thought looked good in the audience, all of which happened to be of color. Is he really going to make me believe that there were no white folk looking good that evening? What a racist!!
  • I was surprised at how good Drew Barrymore looked. She finally got some sun on that pale white skin on hers.
  • It was funny to see who was put in the balcony instead of being allowed to sit in front of the stage on the ground floor. Amongst those most notably in the balcony were, star of one of the worst films of the year, Justin Timberlake & recently admitted depressed loser Zach Braff. Braff is best known for using his status as director & screenplay writer to get hotties into bed with him for love scenes (Natalie Portman, Rachel Bilson & Sarah Chalke) and in real life (Mandy Moore).

AI's First Week
American Idol is the greatest show of all time but I'm no fan of the audition shows. I hate watching people who are pretending to act like they think they can sing when all they want is to get on TV. Here are some other points:

  • Simon is again the only reason to watch the audition shows, for the 3rd straight year, Paula looks like she is smoking crack before each show & Randy is now really blunt with his criticism. He has to be sick of trying to be nice to all of the untalented losers they parade in front of him.
  • I'm really disappointed with the small amount of contestants that did make it, not being shown on TV. I would guess that 95% of the hopefuls that were shown, were only there to make us laugh and were not serious contestants.
  • I was able to pick out Carrie Underwood & Katharine McPhee, making a prediction that they will go far but so far I don't see anyone who could make it to the top 5.
  • Jewel, who looked drop dead gorgeous, was the co-host on the first audition show. I could get used to looking at her on the show permanently if one day the producers decide to replace that crystal meth addict.
  • I'll never understand how the judges can get angry that they haven't seen any good talent when it has been screened beforehand and its obvious that they will see a large percentage of the contestants that suck.

High Maintenance 90210
From the people who created one of my favorite shows ever, 'Dr. 90210', the E! Channel has put together a new series featuring the butlers, nannies and other 'help' who cater to the rich & famous in Beverly HIlls. While 'Dr' exhibits the traits of a true reality show, this new show is the exact opposite. Instead of letting things happen, the producers have forced the 'help' into uncomfortable situations and coerced circumstances in the phony tradition of "The Simple Life". You could place Nicole or Paris into any of these situations and it's basically the same show.

In the series opener, they featured a guy who wants to be a butler (Brian Armstrong) and some piece of ass chick (Lucy) who seeks employment as a nanny/babysitter while still trying to manage her acting career. The butler is a young baby-faced douche in his 20's whose "goal is to one day work at the White House, and, in that way, serve my country." He supposedly trained in the Netherlands and is a really straight laced guy. His boss Jack Lippman, owns the Elizabeth Rose Agency, a company who supplies the rich with help, sends him on three
'interviews'.

The first person who interviewed him was a flamingly gay old dude who also has a personal assistant in his 20s who

Brian Armstrong

obviously serviced him in many ways. This, along with the fact that he has gay parties where clothing is optional, scared the shit out of Armstrong. The second meeting was with a lady that reeked of 50,000 in facial plastic surgery was a spiritual healer who read his fortune. And the third was another flamingly gay black guy, Norwood Young. The interview was conducted with Norwood in leather pajamas and in an oversized chair that towered over Armstrong. This guy had two dogs, both died a different color, had the balls to laugh at Armstrong because he didn't know what a '40' was or how people dress at his 'ghetto parties'.

The nanny chick had a really hard time with her assignment. The kid she had to look after was the model problem child. You know that kind you want to punch in the mouth in the checkout line of the supermarket... She got along with the rugrat until plans to go to the park were diverted by a call from her agent informing her that she needs to come in to read for a part. What a coincidence.. She enlisted the aid of the brat to help her with her lines which happened to involved a stabbing. The kid got scared and told her that he hates her. Later that day when the parents came home, the brat squealed on her. And from the looks of their website (she isn't listed as a 'personality' on the show, I think that was her last job with the agency.
