Britney
Spears, Missy Elliot and Nelly Frutado are now campaigning
against downloading music off the Internet. They will all
come together to star in National TV ads in a commercial
to warn people of the evils of online piracy.
How
much money do these freaks need? Britney is worth over 15
million and she is worried about people willingly downloading
her puke that she calls music? She should thank God and just
be glad that she duped millions of idiots into buying her
shit in the first place. In one of the spots she says, "Too
many people don't realize that when you download a song you
like from a peer-to-peer network or some other unauthorized
Internet source, what you're doing is stealing music."
I wonder how many times she had to practice this line before
she got it right. I can just picture her at home in front
of her gold plated vanity, with her personal assistant brushing
her hair, saying this line over and over and over again. |
Missy
Elliot is another one who should just shut her hole and
count her blessings. Here is a woman who looks worse than
Oprah and raps almost as bad. In fact for her first video,
she had to wear a trash bag because the local Lane Bryant
closed down in her area. Maybe she does need the money.
I'm guessing that she still lives in the projects because
I haven't seen her on MTV Cribs. At her web site, she states
that she is a "Writer, producer, rapper, singer &
Icon and that "there is no urban or pop artist - male
or female -- with the credentials to step to Missy 'Misdemeanor'
Elliott." You got to love the egos of rappers. HAHA
Icon!!!
There
will a string of print ads which will be launched Thursday
with full-page ads in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times
and other publications. The print ads ask the question,
"Who Really Cares About Illegal Downloading?,"
then answer it with a diverse list of nearly 90 major recording
artists and songwriters, including such superstars as Eminem,
Madonna, the Dixie Chicks, Elton John, Sting, Phil Collins,
Luciano Pavarotti, Brian Wilson, and Natalie Cole. Hmm,
ALL MULTI-MILLIIONARES!!!! Do they really think that the
average Joe can sympathize with them or their cause? Where
were these high profile artists when the fight against Napster
began? Madonna needs money so she can focus on her horrible
movie career, Natalie Cole snorted away her fortune, Phil
needs hair plugs, Eminem needs to hire more black people
to stand behind him at award shows and Brian Wilson has
a huge psychiatrist bill.
Unfortunately
for these pompous, out of touch with reality freaks, file
sharing will never go away. Stop one source and 5 more pop
up. Instead of fighting this losing battle, the record industry
and executives need to change the way they operate like
lowering the price of CDs or maybe even taking a pay cut
would help. I'm sure that Tommy Maytola hasn't felt any
of the effects during this supposed decline in sales...
